Cardinal Update

  • Congratulations to the Mighty Cardinal Band for being named Grand Champions of the Royse City Marching Classic on Oct. 8. The band will compete at the UIL Region 25 Marching Contest at Tom Kimbrough Stadium in Plano on Saturday, Oct. 15. Click here to view the schedule.
  • Student Council hosted a blood drive on Wednesday, Oct. 5. There were a total of 75 donors with 38 being first time donors. Overall, 61 units of blood were collected, potentially saving 183 lives. Way to go, Cards!
  • The Melissa High School Choir Fall Concert will take place Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Melissa Arts Center. The Treble Chorus will be performing “All-Star” by Smash Mouth in the form of an English Madrigal. Admission is FREE!
  • Homecoming Festivities: Visit the district web page for all the info related to Homecoming 2022: www.melissaisd.org/homecoming.
  • SENIOR ADs for the 2023 yearbook are now on sale! Parents/guardians will build and purchase the ADs through Herff Jones’ site: YearbookOrderCenter.com.
  • SENIORS: The FAFSA is now open. It is a graduation requirement for all seniors to EITHER complete the FAFSA form OR an opt-out form, which can be obtained from the counselors.
  • Red Ribbon Week Photo Contest: Click here to learn more. The entry period runs Oct. 1-Nov. 1
  • Senior Scholarships: The Coca-Cola Scholarship is open through Oct. 31. Take a look to see if you qualify and apply today!
