On Oct. 21, at the stroke of midnight, Taylor Swift released her 10th studio album: ‘Midnights,’ crashing not only Spotify, but the sleep schedules of all her dedicated fans who stayed up until 3 a.m. to fully embrace the hazy, late-night album.

The album is composed of 13 tracks, plus seven bonus tracks which can be found on the 3 a.m. edition. ‘Midnights’ is a perfect example of Swift’s ability to consciously sing about herself, as songs like “Anti-Hero” include lyrics like, “It’s me / Hi / I’m the problem, it’s me” and “Sweet Nothing” where she says, “To you I can admit / That I’m just too soft for all of it.”

Although Swift includes multiple moments of vulnerability throughout the album, many songs recognize her brilliance. From “Bejeweled,” she sings, “Best believe I’m still bejeweled when I walk in the room / I can still make the whole place shimmer,” and in “Mastermind” she directly states that she is, in fact, a mastermind.

“Midnights” is introduced with “Lavender Haze,” which, in my opinion, is one of her strongest opening tracks, as its iridescent electric-pop sound perfectly sets the tone for not only the rest of the album, but the new era Swift has entered.

On Nov. 1, Swift posted that she was “enchanted” to announce her next stadium tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, which includes three stops in Texas.

  • Sat, Apr. 1, 2023 – AT&T Stadium – Arlington, TX
  • Sun, Apr. 2, 2023 – AT&T Stadium – Arlington, TX
  • Sat, Apr. 22, 2023 – NRG Stadium – Houston, TX

After not having toured in what feels like five restless years, Swifties across the world are anxiously waiting to celebrate alongside Taylor, in person, the perfect album for all our sleepless nights.
