The Christmas Band and Choir Concert will be held on Dec. 15 in the Performance Hall at the Melissa Arts Center (MAC) at 7 p.m. The Wind Ensemble as well as the Symphonic Band will join the choir for their performance. The symphonic bands will sing alongside the choir and then join the band to play.

“Band and Choir have joined forces to perform,” choir director Ryan Smith said. “This will give our audience and ensembles a bigger variety of music both in sound and style. I very much appreciate Mr. Whorton, Mr. Robason, Ms. Lee and the band students for collaborating with the choir.”

Students getting into the musical arts are now being given more opportunities to express their talents.

“I’m excited that we are able to give our young musicians even more real world experience,” Smith said. “Collaborating with other musicians is an integral part of being a professional musician.”

Students have been putting in extra time to perfect their performances and prepare for the big night. Friends, family and faculty can look forward to the concert and hearing all that has been specially prepared for them.

“We have been working on our music since the middle of October,” Smith said. “Both band and choir have been working very hard in class and during Mega Lunch, and this will culminate in a truly spectacular Christmas Concert.”
