Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Corbin

Mason Sargent, Reporter

Prior to the winter break, Emily Corbin substituted for Lisa Hall’s business classes.

Before Corbin became a substitute teacher for elementary and high school, she was a casino marketing performer, which was fun, but it wasn’t her dream job.

“So I made player development executive,” Corbin said. “I took care of the VIP players at the casino.“

Her dream job is to be an “Edge On” professor, but she had to have high school hours.

“So the main reason I became a substitute teacher is to gain high school hours,” Corbin said. “And to be an Edge On professor, you have to have high school school experience.”

She says it’s “rewarding” as a substitute teacher for elementary and high school though it is much different from her other job.

“So it is, uhm..it’s different,” Corbin said. “It’s much different from my normal profession. It’s also rewarding to work with the kids.“
