With the dawn of the new year, administration rolled out changes for students and teachers involving MegaLunch. The QR Codes of old, managed by CardinalNet, were replaced by a superior system that’s much easier to access (and much harder to cheat) called Flextime Manager. Gone are the days of sending pictures of the QR code to a random club to friends to get an hour-long lunch.

Some members of the student body welcome these changes.

“I love FlexTime Manager,” junior Ryan Cruz said. “My life has been so much better since we switched to it.”

With FlexTime, students are required to build their schedules ahead of time instead of going wherever they want, and they have to show up to where they are assigned. Teachers are then required to take attendance. Students who don’t attend clubs or tutorials, or don’t sign up for them, receive a fifty minute long lunch detention for non-compliance.

“I love FlexTime!” librarian Shana Nowlin said. “I love how kids can schedule where they need to be. It limits wandering by quite a bit. It also prevents people who are slow from losing their seat, since seats are reserved.”

Teachers and students alike approve of this new system, and it’s made MegaLunch work smoothly and efficiently.

“I really like FlexTime Manager; it’s probably one of my favorite apps on the app store,” junior Naham Otu said.

Students must always remember to keep their FlexTime schedule updated. If students see “catch all” on their schedule, then they need to change it…or else be assigned a detention. Students can use the app or log into FlexTime with a computer.
