Cardinal Update

  • Congratulations to Cardinal Powerlifting for qualifying three athletes for the Texas High School Powerlifting Association’s (THSPA) state meet. Senior Peyton Knight and soph. Owen Hollenbeck both won 2nd place in their weight classes, and senior Brandon Ward won 1st place in his class and also received the Outstanding Squatter Award as he broke the regional record with a lift of 850 lbs. Freshman Jake Brown also medaled with 4th place, and the boys’ team finished in 3rd place overall at the regional meet. The state meet will be held in Abilene on March 25.
  • Cheer Fundraiser: Please consider supporting the MHS cheer program this spring by purchasing some yummy popcorn! This fundraiser ends on March 31. The cheer program will receive half of all sales. Follow this link to order: fundraisingstore.momandpopcorn.com. Profits will help offset cheer expenses for the athletes.
  • SENIORS: The Dallas Mavericks are having a Class of 2023 Night on Wednesday, April 5. Tickets can be purchased at www.mavsgroups.com/classof2023 and includes the option to buy a Class of 2023 shirt and the opportunity to shoot a free throw on the court after the game. (This is not a school sponsored event.)
