Cardinal Update

  • Congratulations to sophomore Katy Merchant for qualifying as a medalist for the regional golf tournament, which will be held April 17-18. Katy tied for third place individually and won a sudden death playoff to advance.
  • Teacher Appreciation Night: Lady Cardinal Softball will honor teachers before the varsity game on Tuesday, April 11, at 6 p.m. Click here for more info.
  • Blood Drive: Student Council will host a spring blood drive on Wednesday, April 12. Mrs. Tyner emailed students the link to register, or visit the Red Cross website to register for a time slot. Any student 16 or younger wanting to donate blood can pick up a parent permission slip outside Mrs. Tyner’s room A124.
  • Course Requests for 2023-24 are now available to view in the student and parent portal of the Home Access Center (HAC). Students should view their schedules carefully and complete the MHS Course Change Request Form if changes are desired. The deadline to submit the form is May 12 at 4 p.m.
  • PROM 2023: This year’s prom with “A Night in New York” theme will be held April 29. Tickets are on sale through April 14 for $70, and then the price increases. Click here for more information–ticket sales, dress code, guest guidelines and more.
  • Yearbooks are still on sale for $75 through May 1. A limited quantity is available! Visit yearbookordercenter.com to purchase a book.
  • SCHOLARSHIPS: Seniors, visit the MHS scholarships page frequently to earn money for college and even vocational training.

  • The Collin College Technical Campus is hosting an Open House on Saturday, April 15 beginning at 9 a.m. This is a great opportunity for students to visit the Tech Campus and receive demo, tours and program information for the various technical programs offered at Collin College.   • The Collin College McKinney Campus is hosting an Open House on Thursday, April 20 from 4-6 p.m. This is a great opportunity for students to visit the McKinney Campus and Health Sciences Center and receive program information for the various health sciences programs offered at Collin College.
