  • Congratulations to the UIL Cheer Team for placing first in Crowd Leading and fifth overall at the UIL Spirit State Championship. Click here to view the results.
  • Senior Parents: If you purchased a senior ad for the yearbook, the deadline to submit your photos and message is Jan. 31. Contact adviser Rachel Nelson ([email protected]) with questions.
  • Seniors: Are you checking the counselors’ scholarship page on our school website?
  • Sports in Action Scholarship: Here is a new scholarship opportunity for Texas athletic, music, and academic participants. The deadline to apply is Jan. 28.
  • Yearbooks are still on sale. The price is now $65 through Jan. 31. Visit balfour.com to order online, or see Ms. Nelson in Room #A136.
  • Seniors: The Feb. 1 deadline to order your graduation cap and gown is rapidly approaching!  If you have not ordered yours, do so ASAP at balfour.com.
  • MHS will host its Academic Expo on Feb. 2 to assist incoming 9th graders and current 9th-11th grade students in requesting courses for next school year. Visit expo.melissaisd.org for lots of useful info. All course request forms are due to the students’ social studies teacher by Feb. 4. 
  • Tickets are on sale now for the “Mardi Gras in Melissa” gala on Saturday, March 19, presented by the Melissa Education Foundation. This annual event raises funds for Melissa ISD student scholarships and teacher grants. To learn more and purchase tickets, click here.
