Cardinal Update
- Congratulations to the JV and Varsity Winter Guards for placing at the NTCA competition at Martin High School. JV placed second in the Regional A division, and Varsity placed first in the National A division, which is an elite group of teams that compete internationally regardless of UIL classification. There will be a Winter Guard Showcase for family and friends on Thursday, Feb. 3, in the aux gym at the high school at 7:30 p.m.
- Congratulations to sophomore Jason Day and his Lovejoy teammates for winning the Texas Amateur Hockey Association’s 2B State Championship on Jan. 23. Click here for more information.
- Senior Parents: If you purchased a senior ad for the yearbook, the deadline to submit your photos and message is Jan. 31. Contact adviser Rachel Nelson ([email protected]) with questions.

- Seniors: The Feb. 1 deadline to order your graduation cap and gown is rapidly approaching! If you have not ordered yours, do so ASAP at balfour.com.
- MHS will host its Academic Expo on Feb. 2 to assist incoming 9th graders and current 9th-11th grade students in requesting courses for next school year. Visit expo.melissaisd.org for lots of useful info. All course request forms are due by Feb. 4.
- Tickets are on sale now for the “Mardi Gras in Melissa” gala on Saturday, March 19, presented by the Melissa Education Foundation. This annual event raises funds for Melissa ISD student scholarships and teacher grants. To learn more and purchase tickets, click here.
