Cardinals of the Week: March 21-25

Rozleyn Brown, Co-Editor-in-Chief

Melissa High School is continuing to honor students and faculty members that display the core values on a consistent basis. Each week one student and one staff member will be spotlighted and awarded a certificate and some treats. The staff member will also be presented with a “traveling trophy.”

The Student Cardinal of the Week is sophomore Angel Mundy.

Angel was nominated by Ms. Entzminger who had this to say: “Angel Mundy is my choice for student of the week. She comes to class excited about what we are doing and ready to learn. She has a positive attitude and enjoys working with her classmates. The effort that she puts into her assignments is evident every day. In class discussions, she adds a voice that is interesting and important. She is a wonderful representation of what a Melissa Cardinal is all about! Congratulations on being a student of the week.”

Ms. Entzminger presents the Student of the Week award to sophomore Angel Mundy.

The Teacher Cardinal of the Week is librarian Ms. Shana Nowlin.

Nowlin was nominated by Ms. Entzminger who had this to say: “Shana Nowlin is my choice for teacher of the week. Shana works hard to make sure that I have all the resources that I need to teach my students. She is able to find a resource even when I give her very little information about what I am looking for. When students are looking for just the right book she is able to give them suggestions that excite them about reading. She is great at teaching our students critical research and citation skills. The work that Shana does makes me a better teacher; she is an asset to our students and she does it all with a smile on her face!”

Ms. Entzminger passes the Teacher of the Week award to Ms. Nowlin.
