The homecoming dance will take place on Oct. 29 from 8-11 p.m. in the auxiliary gym and student union. Melissa students have been sent details in their emails regarding the week and the dance on Saturday. The big night is quickly approaching, and many students anticipate being asked to the dance. While many are still waiting, plenty have already been asked, giving others ideas on how to “propose.”

Seniors are allowed to invite outside guests to the dance. Not only has this given them a wider range of freedom, but it also opens doors for more dates and proposals.

“Peyton is a junior but goes to a different high school, and I’m a senior,” senior Chelsea Flanigan said. “Well, this is my last high school homecoming, and it’s also my senior year, so I might as well enjoy every memory I have left of my high school career. When I was making the homecoming proposal to Peyton, I was extremely nervous. He had no idea what was going on.”

Although only some students may have a date or someone to go with, and others may not, the dance is still something in which everyone feel excited.
