Arctic Monkeys drop seventh studio album ‘The Car’

On Oct. 21, Alternative/Indie rock group Arctic Monkeys released their seventh studio album “The Car.” The album consists of 10 songs:
- “There’d Better Be a Mirrorball”
- “I Ain’t Quite Where I Think I am”
- “Sculptures of Anything Goes”
- “Jet Skis on the Moat”
- “Body Paint”
- “The Car”
- “Big Ideas”
- “Hello, You”
- “Mr. Schwartz”
- “Perfect Sense”
The album was produced by James Ford, who has worked with other well-known artists, like Depeche Mode, Arctic Monkeys and Gorillaz. His production of “The Car” has earned No. six on Billboard 200.
The group began around mid-2002 by friends Alex Turner, Matt Helders, and Andy Nicholson. Turner was the lead guitarist, with Helders on drums, Nicholson on bass, and later on, Jamie Cook, who served as a second guitarist. According to Helders, Cook came up with their name, saying “he just always wanted to be in a band called Arctic Monkeys, which is a cool name.” Nicholson would later leave the group in 2006, replaced by Nick O’Malley in the same year.
They then created their first album “Beneath the Boardwalk” (2006), which was originally classified demos of 18 songs. After that, they started to gain support across England, getting recognition from the press and even radio services.
Afterwards, they created seven more albums:

- “Favourite Worst Nightmare” (2007)
- “Humbug” (2009)
- “Suck It and See” (2011)
- “AM” (2013)
- “Tranquillity Base Hotel and Casino” (2018)

Arctic Monkeys continues to gain popularity, even to the point of being recognized worldwide. “The Car” continues to grow, earning No. one on the Top Rock & Alternative Billboard chart.
