Last month, on Oct. 21, “Persona 5 Royal” released to PC through the Steam Store, instantly becoming a massive success, selling nearly 300 thousand copies in the first few weeks, and receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews.

Persona 5,” which is a role-playing video game developed by Atlus, was first released in 2016. An enhanced version of the game,”Persona 5 Royal” was released for PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2019 and worldwide in 2020, receiving high levels of praise.

The Persona series is one of the most iconic game series of all time, due to the deep plotlines, great music, and fun gameplay it possesses. Persona 5 revolves around the main characters, the Phantom Thieves, changing bad people’s hearts, stealing their “treasure” from places called “palaces,” a place formed by an intense and distorted desire and world view. People’s shadows, essentially inner demons, form from their desires without them knowing, and these desires drag them down into the darkness. These things, of course, are based on Jungian Archetypes, which are defined as patterns that are universally recognized by people of different eras as a consequence of the collective unconscious.

Persona 5 doesn’t have its reputation as a great game for nothing, and it has stolen the hearts of many gamers around the world. Read more about the Jungian Archetypes here, and buy Persona 5 Royal here.
