Singing Her Way to the Top

Getting to know your new star.
‘The Wedding Singer’ has a new face showing up in the theatre department named Chloe Morris. This is Chloe’s first time to be acting at all because her friends wanted to be in the show, she thought she should audition too.
“I actually was not planning on auditioning,” Chloe said. “It’s crazy to think about it now. Mrs. Moore heard me singing at Coffee House and approached me about joining theatre. Who knew I would become the lead for my first musical?”
Chloe has had experience singing, dancing, and acting. She loves singing the best. This love for singing and performing made it very easy for her to audition for the musical.
“I’ve been singing my whole life,” Chloe said. “Ever since I was little I’ve been singing in front of people. I lead a worship team at church when I was around ten, I was worship leader for FCA, and was always a part of choir. I sang at every basketball game at my old school from 7th grade until my freshman year. It’s safe to say that music is my life.”
Dancing as the lead has been her weakness.
“Dancing is not my strong suit. I’m trying to get better at it though,” Chloe said. “I’ve been dancing for about as long as I’ve been acting. I haven’t been acting for long, but it comes so natural to me now.”
Chloe has stated that character development is a major part of a show.
“What’s most important about a musical is getting to know your character,” Chloe said. “With some help from Mrs. Moore, and some of my own research I’ve come to know my role pretty well.
Chloe feels that the theater department is full of great talent.
“Sometimes I can feel quite intimidated by how great our actors are. I admire everyone and their talent,” Chloe said.

‘The Wedding Singer’ will be performed in the cafeteria on various days in November. Chloe would love for everyone to come and support the entire cast and crew.
“I think I was most worried about disappointing my theatre family,” Chloe said. “I just want them to be proud of me. I’m excited to be able to sing and act alongside some of my favorite people. I’m ready and can’t wait for the show to be seen.”
