Starting soccer at five years old, sophomore Grace Vidmar has been playing the sport now for 10 years. Her hard work and training has earned her a spot on varsity. Vidmar made it onto varsity in 2021 during her freshman year.

“When my coach first told me I’d be on varsity, the first thing I thought was, ‘Wow, I can’t believe I made it,'” Vidmar said.

Vidmar has progressed through numerous skills training and drills to get where she is today. Her training involves many challenges, like running, working touches, and controlling the ball.

“In order to improve, I need to consider the advice my coaches have given me to work hard and never give up on something even if I want to,” Vidmar said. “It also helps to not be selfish with the ball and passing to others.”

Nowadays, Vidmar plays winger in games instead of forward, her past position.

“I think it’s more fun,” Vidmar said. “I am more involved with the play. Usually before a game, I drink a lot of water and make sure that I stretch. Otherwise you can pull something if you don’t.”
