Baseball tryouts to be held Jan. 22
January 18, 2023
With baseball tryouts happening Jan. 22, a lot of athletes in baseball feel pressure to train to be as good as possible before the big day. A lot of players have different strategies on how they will get there, so there’s a wide variety of options and there’s a lot of emotions, too.
Melissa High School and the coaches have set the day for tryouts on Jan 22.
“Tension is rising,” sophomore Micah Pyrier said. “We haven’t been organized well enough and haven’t got enough in-school practice.”
Many players feel this way–that they haven’t been prepared enough by the school specifically. But some also feel that the reason for that is because they haven’t been taking the practices seriously enough.
The coaches have been prioritizing the baseball players to exercise more than practice, as it helps their physical conditioning and endurance and overall strength and speed. It also allows them to do more and perform better during practice. They have also been exercising almost all fundamental aspects of baseball, to get them finely tuned to the sport.
In conclusion, players just have to wait and see how they deal with the stress of the tensions rising as the big day approaches, and which of them will make it and which will not.
