The Wedding Singer’ is a musical movie from the 90´s featuring a wedding singer who has struggled with relationships. The singer finds himself to be falling in love with a woman who is about to be married.

The Theatre Production class has been rehearsing weekly since the first day of school, along with the dance camp over the summer to prepare for the upcoming performances.

“We have been rehearsing five and a half hours a week,” Moore said. “But now that the show is almost here we rehearse up to eight hours a week.”

The production officially opens on Thursday, Nov. 9th at 7:30 p.m. There will be a free dress rehearsal performance on Tuesday, Nov. 7th at 6 p.m.

“The free dress rehearsal is for all MHS students, teachers, and staff. Ticket sales will remain open through the entire run if they can not attend the free showing,” Moore said.

The shows will be on Thursday, Nov. 9th at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 12th we will have two showings at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16th at 7:30 p.m., and finally a show on Saturday, Nov. 18th at 7:30 p.m.

¨We will have six shows including the free dress rehearsal. The cast is so excited for the first performance,” Moore said.

Last year, the class showed their first musical ever ‘Grease’.

“‘The Wedding Singer’ is absolutely hilarious. ‘Grease’ was a comedy too, but I would say ‘The Wedding Singer’ has more truly laugh out loud moments,” Moore said.
