Pro rally driver Ken Block passes at 55

Pro rally driver and co-founder of Hoonigan, Ken Block was killed in a deadly snowmobile accident on Jan. 2. He was confirmed dead after a statement from local authorities and Hoonigan.

Block was a pro rally driver for his company Hoonigan that specializes in takeover stunts for media recognition. He drove for them in their popular “Gymkhana” series on YouTube, which featured going to different locations and drifting a rally course filled with many dangerous stunts and jumps.

A statement put out by local authorities on Facebook confirmed his death:

“Kenneth Block, 55-year-old male out of Park City, Utah, was riding a snowmobile on a steep slope when the snowmobile upended, landing on top of him. He was pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.”

A statement was also put out on Instagram by Hoonigan, along with a tribute video on their YT page and main website.

“We are still processing the loss of our friend and co-founder Ken Block.”
