The football team is performing remarkably in the 2017 season. The team has a record of 2 wins and no losses in district, and 6 wins 1 loss overall. The Cardinals are tied with Aubrey for first place in district with a total score of 316 points on the season. The Red Machine is averaging a staggering 45 points a game. The team’s numbers are a topic of conversation in the football community.

“The Red Machine cannot be stopped,” Coach Nally said.

The defensive players have held the front, keeping teams at an average of 24 points per game. The defense put on a show last week. Chance Mapps had two key interceptions in the first half, 1 of them leading to a defensive touchdown. The defense is preparing for week 9, where the Cardinals will face the Celina Bobcats in one of the biggest games of the year.

“Remember. Call the front, be physical, and we will win the game Friday night,” Coach Gilbert said.

This rivalry game will determine the momentum of the team in the district and the opportunity for the district championship.

“I would really like to have another gold ball at Melissa.” Vincent Rangel said. “A defensive tackle.”

Come out and show some cardinal spirit Friday night as the team defends their field against the Celina Bobcats in an exciting match for a chance at the district championship.
