Helmet Hair and Jumpsuits

Physics students decided to trade in their knowledge helmets and backpacks for actual helmets and jumpsuits by attending the annual IFly field trip Wednesday, November 1. Besides learning how fast they can acquire helmet hair, students also learned the physics behind how IFly uses kinematics and free fall to give their patrons the almost real thrill of actual skydiving.
Sarah Hall, junior, did not attend the IFly field trip.
“I haven’t been before, but it seems like a great thing for physics students to encounter, ” Sarah said.
Sarah is familiar with the process of the event such as the tube and all things attendees did while at IFly.
“I am just afraid of the idea of flying,” Sarah said.
Ciara Brunson, another junior, is among the many people who attended the IFly field trip.
“I have been once before, I really liked it, I was in the tube for a whole 5 minutes,” Ciara said.
The last time Ciara visited IFly, she thought that her visit to IFly was fun, so she decided to take advantage of this great opportunity to go back with some of her friends.
“The last time I went it was very loud because there was a lot of wind being pushed into the tube in order to keep the instructor and I up,” Ciara said.
