Texas’ Worst Mass Shooting

A man opened fire inside local small church in Sutherland Springs, Texas this Sunday. The shooter killed 26 people and wounded about 20 others, making this Texas’ worst mass shooting.
Sutherland Springs is in a rural area about 40 minutes outside of San Antonio.
Investigators identified the shooter as Devin Kelley. Kelley lived in San Antonio. Investigators looked at Kelley’s social media, and found a picture of a AR-15 semiautomatic weapon.
A civilian with a gun chased Kelley away and Kelley was later found in his vehicle, dead.
Among those dead at the church, is Pastor Frank Pomeroy’s 14-year-old daughter. Frank nor his wife Sherri were present during the attack, they were both out of state.
“Neither of us have made it back into town yet,” Sherri said. “But I am at the airport trying to get home as soon as I can.”
Eight of the victims were care flighted to Brooke Army Medical Center, which is about 10 miles out from the church building.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott called the shooting an “evil act” and promised more details to be posted soon.
