This summer, the sequel to the hit animated film “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” will come to theaters on June 2. “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” plans to follow the events from the original film, and with a film that big, comes very high expectations.

“Into the Spider-Verse” arguably set a new standard for film animation and continues to be one of the best animated films of all time. This film brought a new animation style to the big screen that consisted of 2D art on top of 3D animation. The contrast it creates gives the film its own unique art style, which set it apart from any other animated film at the time.

On top of having amazing animation, the story and soundtrack are just as highly credited. With artists like Post Malone, Sway Lee, Juice Wrld, and many more on the soundtrack, it is bound to be nothing short of exemplary.

“The directive of the soundtrack is guided by what the team thinks Miles listens to, and that’s how we got ‘Sunflower’ in the first film,” said Chris Miller, one of the writers of the film. The hit track of the first movie, “Sunflower,” has become “the joint highest-certified single in RIAA history.”

Now with such a big bar to raise, Sony Animation has come prepared. The main producer for the new soundtrack will be none other than the critically acclaimed Metro Boomin. Metro has established himself in the rap scene as one of the greatest to ever do it. His most recent hit album, “Heroes and Villains,” debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, giving him his third No.1 album.

“If anybody is going to make something that feels like it’s Miles’ experience, that guy knows what he’s doing,” Miller said..
