Cardinal Update

  • VOLLEYBALL 2023 TEAM STORE is open a few more days! The store closes Sept. 5. Click HERE to shop online to purchase some Cardinal spirit wear.
  • SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUESTS: Students who submitted a schedule change request need to check their school email for a message from their alpha counselor to see what change was made and if their request was approved.
  • STUDENT COUNCIL will host their first meeting of the year on Wednesday, Sept., 6. There will be two times to choose from–before school (7:45-8:10 a.m.) or after school (4:05-4:30 p.m.). The meetings will be held in Mrs. Klein’s room, A124, located on the 1st floor. Students are encouraged to attend and get involved!
  • HOSA will host a meeting for new and returning members on Sept. 12 @ 7:45 a.m. in the Championship Center film room.
  • A meeting for the Health Science 2025 international trip will be held Sept. 28 @ 7 p.m. in the Championship Center VIP lounge.
  • EARLY CARDINAL SPECIAL: Yearbooks are now on sale for $60 through Sept. 30. This price includes one line of FREE name stamping. Purchase online at yearbookordercenter.com.
  • HOSA will host a fall blood drive on Oct. 4. Anyone who wishes to donate blood can make an appointment. Click here for an informational letter for parents, and click here for a 16-year-old consent form.

Seniors Rennice Kerebi and Kaden Isowe are crowned as the 2024 Homecoming Queen & King before the varsity football game on Oct. 18. The Cardinals defeated Frisco Independence, 75-6.
Cardinal Brief: Oct. 28-Nov. 1
The varsity boys basketball float, "Kings of the Court," wins first place in the annual homecoming parade on Oct. 16.

Miranda Sirota is a senior this year at Melissa High School. This is her third year writing for the Cardinal Connection. Miranda is also involved in other extracurriculars including Band, HOSA, NHS, academic UIL, and Book Club. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, cooking, and binge-watching her favorite TV shows. After graduating, Miranda plans to study Dental Hygiene to become a registered hygienist.
