Senior Tyler Mathieson competed in the Technical Computer Applications contest at the state SkillsUSA competition in the spring of his junior year, and he won first place. Mathieson along with his coach Doug Bingman were presented with their state rings at the November school board meeting.
As the state champion, Mathieson qualified for the national contest, where he competed in June and finished in second place.
