Cardinal Update
- CONGRATULATIONS to Varsity Softball for setting a new state record for the most home runs in a single season! They have scored 86 home runs in 34 games, shattering the previous record of 82 set by Canyon HS in 2017. The Lady Cards will continue their playoff run in the regional semi-finals round with a series against Wakeland. Game 1 will be played May 15 at 6:30 p.m. Game 2 will be May 16 at 6:30 p.m. and Game 3, if needed, will by May 18 at 12 p.m. All games will be played at Frisco Emerson HS.
- BEST CATCHER IN THE NATION: Freshman Hutton Adrian has been nominated for Best Catcher in the Nation! Click HERE to vote to help her win. Voting closes May 14 @ 11 p.m.
- REMINDER: Parent Surveys will close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 13. If you have not already completed the survey, please take a moment to do so – we want to hear from YOU! Your feedback is instrumental in helping us develop our campus improvement plans, identify trends in specific grade levels, and further improve our communication methods so that our families feel connected and informed. surveys. - YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION: Students who purchased a yearbook will able to pick it up during their lunch break on Wednesday, May 15, inside the library. Students may NOT leave Advisory to come pick up their book. Students must show their student ID in order to receive their book, and they may not pick up a book for anyone else. - “SIT WITH US” MEETINGS: “Sit With Us” meetings provide parents/guardians with an opportunity to come together and discuss ideas, concerns, and potential solutions regarding matters at Melissa Schools. We firmly believe that Melissa parents are Cardinal Champions who see the best for not only their students but for all students. If it matters to one Cardinal, it matters to all Cardinals. - DIGITAL SAT ESSENTIALS COURSE: MHS has partnered with The Princeton Review to offer a Digital SAT Essentials Course, which runs July 13-Aug. 20 on Tuesdays from 5-8 p.m. Click HERE for more info.
- IB INSIGHTS: Melissa High School will be launching the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in fall 2025! This rigorous two-year program will see students engaging in six IB courses, spanning various subjects, and culminating in international exams in May of their senior year. Each exam is scored out of seven points. To earn the prestigious IB Diploma, students must achieve a cumulative total of 24 points. This initiative underscores our commitment to providing a globally recognized and comprehensive educational experience, fostering critical thinking and intercultural understanding.
