Varsity Tennis qualified three athletes for the 5A Region 2 tournament this year, which was held May 9-10 at the Z-Plex in Melissa.
Senior Cade Gentry and soph. Eddie Zeng finished district as the boys’ double champions to advance to regionals, where they reached the semi-finals, finishing fourth overall with an outstanding 42-2 doubles record.
Senior Rylee Reddick was the girls’ singles runner-up, earning her a spot at regionals as well. Soph. Ayan Bhardwaj placed third in boys’ singles making him an alternate to the regional tournament.
During the fall, the varsity team clinched the bi-district title, and in the spring, they won 47 medals total! At the district meet, both boys and girls placed third overall.
