On Saturday, Aug. 31, the varsity football team will have their home opener at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium. Not only will they be taking on the Parkview Patriots, the reigning Arkansas 5A State Champions, but they will also tackle cancer by hosting “Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer” (WOKC). All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the WOKC organization, supporting the fight against pediatric cancer.
WOKC is a non-profit organization that supports children with cancer and their families while funding research for new pediatric cancer treatments. To find out more information about this organization and what they do, visit their website: www.wokc.org.
Tickets for the WOKC Football Classic are on sale at www.melissaisd.org/tickets. Due to broadcast restrictions, the game will not be livestreamed; however, the recording by the MHS AV production program will be made available after it is over.
As a reminder, MISD enforces a clear bag policy; be sure to review the Melissa ISD Clear Bag Policy and Spectator Guidelines prior to attending.
