Cardinal Update
- SIT WITH US: Parents are invited to meet with campus leadership for conversation and connection on Sept. 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the Food Hall (inside the main academic building).
- SENIOR PORTRAITS: CADY Photography will come to campus on Sept. 24 to take senior portraits in the lobby of the MAC. Students must still make an appointment through cady.com. Seniors have to be photographed by CADY in order to be included in the yearbook. The yearbook-only photos are free of charge and all apparel is provided for the photoshoot. If this date is full, the next opportunity on campus will be Nov. 20.
- SEE YOU AT THE POLE: Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will host the annual national event on Sept. 25 at 7 a.m. at the flagpoles in front of the high school. Join FCA for music, prayer and fellowship.
- ASVAB CEP: Sophomores, juniors and seniors were emailed information from Ms. Stover regarding an opportunity to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Career Exploration Program (CEP) assessment on Oct. 25. If interested, students need to click the link in the email to register for the test by 4 p.m. on Oct. 2.
- SAT SCHOOL DAY: Seniors will receive an email from Ms. Stover on Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. to register for the Fall SAT School Day, which will be Oct. 30.
- HOCO SHIRTS: Lights, Camera, Action! The 2024 Homecoming theme is Hollywood! Order the official 2024 Homecoming shirt online now until Sept. 27. Shirts are available in short-sleeve, long-sleeve, and youth sizes, with two design options for the front. Orders will be distributed on campuses starting Monday, Oct. 7 by Student Council. - MEGA LUNCH: Mega Lunch began last week. All students are required to build their schedule weekly using Securly Flex (formerly FlexTime Manager) and attend one 30-minute session each day–an academic or club/organization for 30 minutes and lunch for 30 minutes. Click HERE for more info.
- WOH NOMINATIONS: Nominations for the 2024-2025 Wall of Honor are now open and close on Oct. 1. The Wall of Honor recognizes former students, former staff, and community members who have positively and significantly impacted the district and society. This ongoing initiative distinguishes altruistic, high-achieving individuals with a significant history. Melissa ISD will celebrate this year’s honoree at the Nov. 1 varsity football game. wallofhonor. - HOMECOMING WEEK: We invite all Melissa Cardinals, including students, staff, alumni, and family, to join us in celebrating Homecoming Week from October 15-18, 2024! - BUS RIDERS: All students who ride a bus to/from school must have a bus pass.
- CAMPUS DRIVERS: The Melissa Schools police department cautions students, parents and teachers driving on or around campus to obey the speed limits at all times. The police WILL issue citations!
- CRAZY FOR CARDS: The Melissa Education Foundation’s “Crazy for Cardinals” annual fundraising campaign is now underway. You can get your very own “Crazy for Cards” yard sign starting at $35.
