This school year is the first time Melissa High School is offering dance classes. They now have an official dance program and next year will have a dance team.
The dance program will have some performances throughout this school year that will showcase what students have learned. These performances will be held in the auditorium of the Melissa Arts Center.
The new program is under the direction of dance teacher Joanna Ingram, who has many years of experience.
Ingram played a key role in coaching the award-winning Pure Gold Dance Team and directing the Gold Dust JV Dance Team and is a dancer herself. She was an Allen Tallenette and a Texas State Strutter. She graduated with a BFA in dance education. Click HERE to read more on the Melissa ISD website.
Tryouts for next year’s dance team will be held during the spring. The dance team will perform at football games, public performances, and competitions.
