Homecoming is approaching quickly. Festivities will take place through the week of Oct. 15-19.
Pre-K and ECSE, 6th-8th grade, and 9th-12th grade are participating in themed dress-up days. Kindergarten and elementary schools will not be participating in the homecoming dress-up days but will have themed dress-up days during Red Ribbon Week, Oct. 28-31. However, all students are encouraged to show Cardinal Pride by wearing their Cardinal spirit wear and mums on Friday, Oct. 18.
The annual tailgating, parade, and pep rally will take place on Oct. 16. Tailgating, which will be on the west side of the Championship Center, will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Spots are available on a first come, first serve basis. New this year for tailgating, concessions inside the stadium will open at 5 p.m. and remain open through 7:30 p.m.
The parade will start at 6:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three best-decorated floats. This year the parade theme is “Beat the Knights!” The parade route map can be located here. A community pep rally will start immediately after the parade ends in Coach Kenny Deel Stadium.
The 2024 Homecoming Court will be introduced at the pep rally. This year, due to a tie, the court consists of six males and six females, all seniors. The king nominees are Grayson Dalby, Kaden Isowe, Jake Potucek, Logan Venner, Jacob Wasserman and Jacob Young. The queen nominees are Emma Cannaday, Luci Davis, Sanaa Ferguson, Melody Gallo, Rennice Kerebi and Valeria Velazquez. This year’s Homecoming Prince is Jameson Ille from North Creek Elementary and the Princess is Harper Cheung from Sumeer Elementary.
The homecoming varsity football game against Frisco Independence will kickoff on Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. The dress up theme is “Red Out!” The 2024 Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during halftime of the game.
On Oct. 11, tickets to the game went on sale at 8 a.m. and can be purchased online here. The price is $6 for adults and $4 for students. Ticket prices increase to $10 for adults and students after 3 p.m. the day of the game. Reserved seats are available for purchase as well, at $17 each. The homecoming dance will be held on Oct. 19 from 7 to 10 p.m. The dance will be located in the gym and the courtyard pavilion. This year the theme is “Hollywood Homecoming!” Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased here. Ticket sales will close at midnight on Friday, Oct. 18.
