“Mega Lunch” returned to campus on Sept. 18. Mega Lunch is an hour-long lunch period split into two 30-minute halves. Students use an app called Securly Flex (formerly Flextime Manager) to sign up for clubs and tutorials for the week. The first day of each week students have an advisory with their fourth period teacher where they build their schedule for the rest of the week.
During Mega Lunch, students choose what lunch period they have–either A or B–and what daily session they want to attend. It’s a great opportunity to get extra work done in a study hall or to make up a test or get extra help from a teacher during a tutorial session or to attend a club or organizational meeting.
Students are required to attend a session each day. If they don’t, then they will receive lunch detention for non-compliance.
A variety of clubs are offered each day during Mega Lunch and many are led by students. There is a Puzzle Club, a Disney Club, a Just Dance Club, and an International Club, just to name a few.
All of the school’s organizations also meet one day a week during the lunch hour such as Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), SkillsUSA and more.
For the full list of clubs and organizations that meet daily, students can view the Google Docs below.
