- MLK DAY – NO SCHOOL: Reminder: Melissa ISD will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Students will return to school Tuesday, Jan. 21. We honor the enduring legacy of Dr. King, whose vision of equality, justice, and unity continues to inspire positive change in our world. His work reminds us of the importance of compassion and courage in shaping a better future for all.
- DUAL CREDIT: Students interested in taking dual credit classes for the 2025-26 school year need to review the Academic Dual Credit Registration Timeline. Parents MUST attend the Information Night hosted by Collin College on Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. in the Melissa Arts Center (MAC), and students MUST attend one New to Dual Credit Application Session during Mega Lunch Jan. 22, 23 or 24. - TIP411: Melissa ISD is excited to announce the launch of Tip411, a new tool designed to enhance safety and communication in our district. Tip411 allows students, parents, and community members to anonymously report safety concerns. - REQUIRED NOTICE: SAFE FIREARMS NOTICE: In accordance with Texas law, school districts are required to provide parents and guardians with information on safe firearm storage. - SIT WITH US: Sit With Us meetings provide parents/guardians with an opportunity to come together and discuss ideas, concerns, and potential solutions regarding matters at Melissa Schools. The philosophy of Sit With Us is that Melissa parents are Cardinal Champions who see the best for not only their students but for all students. If it matters to one Cardinal, it matters to all Cardinals. sitwithus - MEF SCHOLARSHIPS: The Melissa Education Foundation (MEF) Scholarship Application has officially opened for seniors. The deadline to apply is March 8, 2025.
