- NEW TO DUAL CREDIT: Reminder, the mandatory deadline set by MHS to submit the Collin College application for dual credit is Feb. 7 @ 11:59 p.m. Any student who fails to meet the application deadline may not be allowed to continue with the registration process. For assistance with the application, students should schedule a meeting with Collin College Counselor Ms. Pavlik. Her office is located in F118, and she is available on Mondays, Tuesdays and every other Friday.
- STAAR PREP: The Student Council Academic Excellence team will be offering various presentations to help students prepare for the upcoming STAAR exams. This week check out the Biology STAAR Prep-entation.
- SIT WITH US: Sit With Us meetings provide parents/guardians with an opportunity to come together and discuss ideas, concerns, and potential solutions regarding matters at Melissa Schools. The philosophy of Sit With Us is that Melissa parents are Cardinal Champions who see the best for not only their students but for all students. If it matters to one Cardinal, it matters to all Cardinals. Get Involved: Those who are interested in joining Sit With Us are encouraged to attend the next meeting scheduled for Jan. 27 at 5:30 p.m. in the MHS Food Hall. sitwithus - BOOK DRIVE: The MHS Book Club is hosting a book drive! Please help us donate a library of books to Children’s Health. Donation boxes are found in all English teachers’ classrooms.
- DRIVER’S ED: The next driver’s ed class will begin Feb. 26. Sign ups are available in the main office.
- MEF SCHOLARSHIPS: The Melissa Education Foundation (MEF) Scholarship Application has officially opened for seniors. The deadline to apply is March 8, 2025.
- BUS RIDERS: All students who ride a bus to/from school must have a bus pass.
