Throughout 2025 various movies have been released and are gaining traction, ESPECIALLY in the month of April. The top three movies to come out this month are the following: “A Minecraft Movie,” “Sinners” and “The Accountant 2.”

A Minecraft Movie:

This movie was released on April 4 and has been an experience that resembles a connection to the childhood of many high school students.

Viewers who attended the movie expressed that they apprieciated the fact that the creators of the movie slipped in lines that only real fans understood.

The most infamous line in the movie is during Garett’s fight against a baby zombie on top of a chicken where Steve shouts “Chicken Jockey!”

After the occurence of this scene, the audience has been known to repeat the same words as well as screaming, cheering, throwing popcorn, and throwing drinks.

The stars of the movie include Jason Momoa as Garett, Jack Black as Steve, Sebastian Hansen as Henry, Emma Myers as Natalie, and Danielle Brooks as Dawn.

The plot follows four outsiders that get sucked into a portal into a different world called the Overwold as proclaimed by IMDb.

Throughout the story, the main crew encounters a crafter named Steve as they try and find their way back into their world.

Sinners:

Sinners was released on April 18 and is an R-rated movie classified in the Horror/Adventure genre. Being directed by the same person who directed both Black Panther movies and Creed, Ryan Coogler, the movie had high expections.

The movie did not let down any expectations as it received a 98% approval rating on RottenTomatoes and has received countless praise throughout the media.

The cast includes Michael B. Jordan as Stack and Smoke, Hailee Steinfeld as Mary, Miles Caton as Sammie, Wunmi Mosaku as Annie, Jayme Lawson as Pearline, and Li Jun Li as Grace.

The story begins with two twin brothers, Smoke and Stack, both played by Michael B. Jordan, returning to their home town in Missisippi during the Jim Crow-era of the mid-early 1900s.

Looking for a brand new start after their criminal-filled life, they recruit their younger cousin to assist them in running their juke joint when an unfortunate twist occurs.

Throughout the story, music and culture from this time period that is rarely represented in media is accurately portrayed.

According to ScreenRant, elements of supernatural horror combined with R-rated romance and action and historical tension develop this film into a theatrical masterpiece.

The Accountant 2:

“The Accountant 2” is a sequel to “The Accountant,” which was released in 2016. On April 25, the sequel was released and earned a 78% approval rating on RottonTomatoes.

Ben Affleck stars as Christian Wolff, who discovers a cryptic message left by the murderer of an old acquaintance.

The extremity of the case unravels and it comes clear that he needs the help of his brother Brax played by Jon Bernthal.

The pair of brothers gain help from co-star Cythnia Addai-Robinson, who plays the U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina.

Discussion amongst the media has erupted about whether a third film would be installed until the director spoke up.

According to usatoday, director Gavin O’Connor claims that the franchise was always depicted as a trilogy with “Christian finding connection and love.”
