The King and Queen enjoy their first dance after announcements.
During the evening on April 12, Melissa juniors and seniors took time to enjoy their Emerald City-themed prom while hanging out with friends, dancing, and snacking. The prom was held at the Courtyard Dallas in Allen at their Event Center from 7 to 11 p.m.
There were 10 nominees for the prom court, a first for Melissa High School. The winners, crowned around 9 p.m., were JD Pickett as king and Sarah Orejuela as queen. The other king nominees were Hugo Gudiel Perez, Kevin Maina, Logan D’Amore, and Royal Sabal. The remaining four queen nominees were Krista Hagood, Paisley Needham, Avery Hornsby, and Kaydence Moore.
