- ELECTION DAY: Melissa ISD wants to hear YOUR voice! Saturday, May 3, is Election Day and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Melissa Public Safety Building (2402 McKinney Street, Melissa, TX 75454) and other locations. - SPECIAL OLYMPICS: The 2025 Special Olympics Texas Summer Games is taking place May 1-4 at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium. Traffic around the high school will be heavier than normal all weekend. Click HERE for more info.
- FIELD DAY SHIRTS: If interested in purchasing a 2025 Field Day Shirt made by Red Nation Outfitters, the deadline to order is Sunday, May 4. Each grade level has a different class color. Click HERE to place an order.
- TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK: On May 5-9, we’re celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week and the incredible educators who make a lasting impact every day at Melissa ISD. The high school campus will be participating in themed dress-up days. Click HERE for more info. Our teachers embody the Cardinal Way through their passion, dedication, and belief in every student’s potential, inspiring curiosity, building confidence, and creating classrooms where students feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. - YEARBOOKS: 2025 Yearbooks will be distributed to all pre-sale orders May 7 during A and B Lunches on the 2nd floor of the library. Once those orders have been picked up, sales for extra yearbooks will open on May 12 and remain open until sold out. Extra yearbooks will be $80–cash, check or card–and will be sold first come, first serve–no books will be held or reserved.
- GOLF TRYOUTS: Anyone interested in trying out for the golf team for next school year needs to contact Coach Watkins for tryout information. Email [email protected], or stop by room F204 or Coach Peale’s room F206 to visit with them.
- BIRDIE TRYOUTS: Interested in joining the MHS Cheer Program as our new Birdie? Contact Coach Alex Whorton for more information. Tryouts will be held during advisory on the week of May 12-16.
- UIL REQUIRED FORMS: Parents and guardians of Melissa ISD students participating in athletics, band, cheerleading, colorguard, and/or dance for the 2025-2026 school year must complete all required UIL documentation and ensure that it is approved within Rank One by the program deadline in order for the student to be eligible for participation. - PARENT SURVEY: Melissa ISD wants to hear from YOU! We’re seeking feedback from parents/guardians about the 2024-2025 school year through an anonymous survey. The survey is open now and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 11. Thank you for your valuable insights and partnering with us to continuously improve Melissa ISD for our Cardinals! - PARKING: Students need to park in the designated student parking areas. Any vehicles with a student parking tag or without a tag that is parked in front of the Championship Center, CKD Stadium or in the band parking lot will be issued an orange sticker and may be subject to a fine.
- BUS RIDERS: All students who ride a bus to/from school must have a bus pass.
