Junior Sophia Helton had two artworks qualify for state this school year, and one piece of artwork qualified for the GOLD SEAL!! This wasn’t her first time qualifying for state or winning a gold seal. Her consistent efforts and exploration through sculpture have earned her these awards.
There were over 32,000 entries statewide. Jurors came from all over the state–college professors, retired and current art educators, professional artists and photographers.
Sophia is in the top 7% of all state qualifying artists! There were 164 artworks that were awarded the gold seal. These artworks are a part of a touring exhibition and are featured in conferences throughout the state.
