Head Football Coordinator Coach Matt Nally feels the team will win state this year. Together, they are working to make the state championship game. And they are trying to win state by practicing and working together. Nally helped coach the team when they won state and all eight of their district championships.
“We have the best team we have ever had,” Nally said. “We have a very good chance to make it this year.”
The team has not made it to state since 2011. Nally’s goals this year are to beat Anna, make the playoffs and then win state.
Varsity football player Caleb Wilmeth feels the team has a good chance at making it to state because of what they are doing to prepare.
“[We are] cutting out cancers and building a bond between us,” Wilmeth said.
Jeremiah Graham, a JV football player, says he wants to make varsity next year, and he believes his position will help the team win state because the coaches are helping prepare for that.
“We are working hard everyday and pushing ourselves,” Graham said.
