JV team faced off against Oak Cliff on Thursday, October 4. The JV team remains undefeated with a 5-0 record, beating Oak Cliff 52-0.

Some football players shared their secrets to success so far.

“Everybody has good chemistry,” JV Quarterback, Parker Taylor, sophomore, said. “There is not a doubt in my mind that we will remain undefeated.”

One interesting note is as the Varsity Cardinals defeated the Whitehouse Wildcats 27 to 23 on Thursday, September 13  and, Chase Mapps, junior,  was featured on SportsCenter for an excellent catch made in the third quarter.

I was just hoping for a first down,”  Boys Athletic Director and Football Coach, Seth Stinton, said.

When Stinton saw the pass from Brendon Lewis connect to Mapps he said he wasn’t surprised. These were like the passes he had seen him make before in practice, Stinton said, but Mapps was shocked.

Yes, I was actually surprised I came up with the ball because I tipped the ball to myself, it fell on me, and I caught it,” Mapps said.
