The tennis team will play their first playoff match this Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at the Lifetime Fitness Center in Plano, Texas.

The team is entering the postseason with high hopes, and are anxiously awaiting their first match.

“I’m really excited about the playoffs,” Junior Jake Fowler said. “We won bi-district last year, but we want to win regionals this year.”

The team is 1-5 this year in the district, with only one win against Krum, but this doesn’t come across as a concern to the team. According to them, their district is one of the toughest in the state.

“If we make it to the regional tournament this year,” Head Tennis Coach Bradley Crawford said. “It’ll probably be us, Anna, Krum, and Argyle.”

Despite the upcoming game, the team has had to practice in the middle school gym, due to rainy weather.

“It’s really boring having to practice in the gym,” Fowler said, “but we have to practice somehow. We can’t just sit around and wait for the playoffs.”
