Young Cardinals to dash for cash

Wendy Guatemala, Writer

The students at Melissa elementary schools North Creek Elementary, Harry McKillop Elementary, and the Melisa Ridge Education Center will be running a 35-lap dash on Nov. 21. Due to inclement weather in the forecast, the event will take place indoors on each campus.

The Cardinal Dash is to help the schools raise funds for more items such as STEM supplies and soccer areas to their playgrounds.

First and second graders will run at 8 a.m., kindergarten at 9 a.m., third and fourth graders at 10 a.m., and fifth graders at 11 a.m.

The dash is a multi-day, fitness-based dash. Elementary students are allowed to run, walk, skip, or jump during the dash.

For the kids there will be a DJ and more fun.
