HOSA is hosting its 2nd annual toy drive for hospitalized children spending Christmas at Children’s Hospital in Plano.

Cardinals have come together in the past to donate over 500 toys.

This year HOSA sponsor Hallie Venner says that students reached out to the tennis team to do a toy drive shopping spree at Stonebriar Mall in Frisco.

This drive is extremely important to the students in HOSA and Mrs. Venner.

“It provides hope to the kids who do not experience the joy of unwrapping gifts under the tree on Christmas morning,” Mrs. Venner said. “It also helps parents get gifts for their kids without stressing over holiday shopping.”

Although they have donated hundreds of toys in the past, Mrs. Venner believes the HOSA toy drive program still has room to be improved.

“We need to work on getting the word about the toy drive out there sooner,” Mrs. Venner said. “That way there is more time for donations.”
