The theatre department performed “The Arabian Nights” by Mary Zimmerman for their 2020 UIL one act play entry. The troupe competed at the district contest on March 7 and placed first, advancing to bi-district, but, of course, all UIL activities have been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Several cast and crew members received individual awards at the district contest. Thaddeus Baker playing the role of Shahryar and Mattie McGrady as Scheherazade were both recognized as Best Performers.

Logan Lowery as Abu al Hasan and Dylan Schmidt as the Clarinetist both received All-Star Cast awards.

Abby Heath received an outstanding technician award individually as well as Overall Outstanding Tech Crew along with Bella Blankenship and Grace Lofaro.
