Mother’s Day was this past Sun., May 10. If you missed the special day and are stuck at home and can’t go to the store, you can make a do-it-yourself (DIY) project with items around your house.

An easy and fast gift to make is a note jar. What you would need is a jar, markers/pens, and sticky notes/paper. Write down reasons why you love your mom and appreciate her and add them to the jar, so she can read them throughout the year when she needs a reminder.

Another easy project is a painted tin can with flowers. You will need to find an empty can, paint it, and then add flowers from outside to create it.

A craft card made by yourself would take less than 30 minutes and also makes a special gift. All you need would be colored paper, scissors, glue, and a pen. You can put whatever personal message you want on the card. A picture of yourself could go with it.

Another easy one is a paper with paint on it. The items needed would be cardboard to make whatever shape on the paper. A pencil with an eraser still intact and paint of whichever color and then let your creativity flow!

If you are able to go to the store, you could buy ribbons and candies to put in a basket or the candies can be arranged to look like flowers in a painted jar.

DIY projects can range from easy to difficult, but they are sure to put a smile on Mom’s face and let her know that she is loved.
