Cardinals of the Week: Jan. 25-29

Melissa High School has started a new feature to honor students and faculty members that display our core values on a consistent basis. Each week one student and one staff member will be spotlighted and awarded a certificate and some treats. The staff member will also be presented with a “traveling trophy.”

The very first student Cardinal of the Week is sophomore Ezekiel Stephens. He was nominated by Mrs. Stephanie Moore who wrote this about him:

“Zeke has done nothing but shine as a Cardinal! He is a student-athlete that follows the code of conduct with fidelity. Zeke has shown such a growth in maturity from his freshman year to now. He is a pleasure to have in class. His teachers speak very highly of him. He asks for help when needed, he is willing to help classmates, and he brings joy and laughter to his classes, as well. I am so impressed with his ability to work hard, stay focused and most importantly have fun.”

Posing with her colleagues and members of the administrative team, Devorah McPherson is recognized as the first faculty Cardinal of the Week.

The very first faculty Cardinal of the Week is Devorah McPherson. Coach McPherson was awarded for her invaluable contributions to Team Melissa. She pours her heart and soul into students, not only in the classroom but on the softball field, as well. She loves her students enough to hold them accountable consistently and is always the first to offer a helping hand.
