The Cardinal football team and coaches are set to take the field Friday night to clinch their spot in playoffs. The first round will not start until the dates of Nov. 10-12. Therefore, Melissa athletes will have time to prepare themselves for challenging opponents. When asked, how does this last district game against community make you feel, are you nervous or worried?, sophomore Kennedy Lewis responded with a strong response stating that “we need to win, so I have to work hard.”

Linebacker coach Travis Roberson mentioned that the team is looking bright ahead of the playoff run, and that ¨I can´t wait to see how they perform against even tougher opponents, and I hope y´all will come out and support us wherever we end up¨. Looking at the bracket right now, Melissa could face teams who are as talented as Celina or Aubrey, who both beat the Cardinals in district play.

The Melissa stands have been packed all year and hopefully this will be the case in playoffs too.
