Juniors and seniors were given the opportunity to attend an in-person Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO) College Fair in the high school’s gym on Tuesday, Sept. 21. This was MHS’s first college fair since 2019 since last year was canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions. The goal of this fair was to help prepare students for college after they graduate in a couple of years.

Over 72 universities nationwide were in attendance at the fair, giving out information about their degree programs, tuition, scholarships, etc. All of this information gave students that attended a lot to consider.

“It made me see all the different possibilities of what’s out there,” junior Victor Vela said.

Students and teachers alike got to experience the rush of how many changes this time of life brings.

“I think it definitely sparked some conversations for our young people…having colleges at our campus and just representing a wide variety of colleges,” counselor Meredith Easter said. “I thought it was spectacular.”
