Cardinal Update

Congratulations to choir members advancing to the Texas Music Educators’ Association (TMEA) Area Competition in January: sophomore Gabi Jones; and seniors John Goers, Logan Lowery, and Kacee Fender.
The 4th floor will be closed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (Dec. 7-9) for EOC Testing. This includes Mega Lunch.
HOSA is sponsoring a Toy Drive in partnership with Toys for Tots. They will collect toys from Dec. 6 – Dec. 13. Toys cannot have gift wrapping and must be in original packaging. The winning class will earn a pizza party and Cardinal Spirit Challenge points.
LAST CALL: We will have ONE more Picture Retake Day on Wednesday, Dec. 8 in the afternoon. (We will announce over the PA for students to come to the library.) Many of the students wearing glasses had a bad glare reflected in them, so we want to give those students an opportunity to retake their photo. Any student that missed one of the first two picture days or any new students may also be photographed on Wednesday. Contact yearbook adviser [email protected] with questions.
The Choirs of Melissa High School and Melissa Middle School will present their Christmas concert on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021. The performance will begin at 7 p.m. in the Melissa Arts Center. Admission is free. We hope to see you there!
Early Release – Dec. 17: School will dismiss at 12:20 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17 to start the two-week holiday break. We will follow the Early Release bell schedule that day.
Juniors: The Coolidge Scholarship is a prestigious award that provides a full ride scholarship to its representatives. It is open to high school juniors only. The January 19 deadline is quickly approaching. If you feel you meet the criteria, you are encouraged to apply. Click here to apply.
