A Week To Be Thankful

Chloe Hockersmith, Reporter

Thanksgiving break is so close I can already smell the turkey and students can barely hold in their excitement! Many only think about it as a break from the stress of high school, but the holiday has an important meaning behind it and students should appreciate the people and things they are thankful for that week. Individuals are all thankful for different things, and reading what is important to each grade helps you get in the Thanksgiving spirit!

In the freshman class, Cynthia Green says, “I’m thankful this year for my friends and family. They are always here for me.” Caleb Miller explains, “I’m thankful for my family, friends and of course drums.”

From the sophomore class, Kaimberlyn Watts says, “I’m thankful that I get to spend Thanksgiving with the whole family. We’re going to stay at the Gaylord Hotel!” David Goss tells me, “I’m thankful for my friends and my family because they have always been here for me. I’m also thankful for sleep and food.”

“I am thankful this holiday for what an amazing year I have had. Opportunities, situations, and new relationships have popped up and made my life so much better. High school, the first chapter of my life, is coming to an end next year and I am so thankful for what I have thus far.” Jonathan Hawkins, a junior, says. Kristen Miller, also a junior, tells me, “I am thankful for my family because they are always by my side through the times when i need them the most. Family can be the best of friends you’ll ever need.”

The seniors’ high school career is soon coming to an end and these four years have given them many things to be thankful for, especially their supportive families.  “This Thanksgiving I am thankful for the people that care about me. That I have people in my life who love, support, and encourage me as I begin to transfer out of high school and into the next phase of my life.” Jack Clemans states. “This Thanksgiving I am thankful for my loving and supportive family. They are being so helpful as they help me prepare for college. I could never move so far from home without their support, advice and kind words.” says a thankful Karen Whitson.

This Thanksgiving, enjoy your week off and make sure to express how thankful you are for the things in your life and the ones you love!
