The 56th Super Bowl will be held on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 5:30 p.m. C.T. This Super Bowl is the final game of the 2021 season of the National Football League (NFL). The teams playing will be the Cincinnati Bengals against the Los Angeles Rams at the Rams’ home field, SoFi Stadium, in Inglewood, CA.

Whether you love football or not, you can look forward to the event as it is so much more than a football game. World-known artists entertain during the 12-minute halftime show, companies spend money on commercials, and yummy foods are typically served alongside the games. This year’s halftime lineup includes some real West Coast classics–Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dogg.

The snack table at the Super Bowl can cheer you up regardless of how the game might go. Below is the list of the most popular snacks to inspire you for this year’s game.

Nachos

A delicious combination of crunchy tortilla chips and melted cheese often topped with flavorful meat and jalapenos. The dish originates from Mexico but has become a staple side of the Super Bowl feast. There are endless ways to customize and improve the classic. Toss your favorite cheese, veggies, and choice of protein over corn chips, and devour!

Sliders

The name slider originated sometime during the 1940s and is because of the juicy grease that usually comes with burgers. The small burgers are perfect when you cannot decide on only one flavor combination. Due to the smaller size, they are easy to eat a bunch of or pair with other appetizing snacks.

Bottomless Dips

Salsa might not be the first thing you think of hearing the word “dip,” but it is the most popular one in the U.S. Salsa is undoubtedly great, but for the Super Bowl, dips are usually on the creamy side. Dips are very shareable and allow everyone to find their ideal dip-to-chip ratio. Some dip recommendations are Buffalo chicken dip, blue cheese dip, pizza dip, spinach artichoke dip, and caramelized onion dip.

Chicken Wings

Chicken wings originated from Buffalo, New York. This explains the term Buffalo chicken wings, which are incredibly popular. Usually, the wings would be used for stock or thrown away, but the new innovation gave the wings a purpose.

Pigs in Blankets

“Pigs in a blanket” is the name of cocktail-sized hot dogs wrapped in dough. The dough is usually a pastry dough, such as crescent rolls. Be aware that pigs in a blanket in England is not the same as in the U.S. The British variation is a sausage wrapped in bacon, rather than dough. The buttery dough combined with sausage makes for the perfect bite-sized snack to dip in marinara or queso.

Pizza

Home-made or takeout, the classic pizza is never wrong. Pizza is great because there is no limit for what to top it with–a classic pepperoni or gourmet pesto.

There are so many variations of these snacky foods. The game is an opportunity to get together with friends or family and have a good time. What do you like to enjoy when watching the Super Bowl?
